“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” ~Albert Camus

Join us as we celebrate the transition from late Fall to Winter. In Five Element Theory, the season of Fall is symbolized by the element of Metal, an element associated with our lungs and large intestines, and with the emotion of grief. It's the time for harvest, completion, and preparing ourselves for Winter, the season that calls us to turn inward and allow ourselves the rest we need so that the seeds buried deep within can begin their metamorphosis and start to manifest their destinies. It's the time that naturally calls for us to hibernate, to slow down and examine the depths of our being.

Yet it's also the season of celebration. We celebrate the holidays, eat and drink heartily, socialize frequently, and try to avoid the aloneness that winter calls us to, without realizing that the entry to our inner world is most accessible during this time of the year. Winter teaches us that the only way to fully enjoy the powers of the season is to surrender to it and learn from what it has to offer us.

How do we honor and support ourselves during this time of transition? This is what we will explore in this month's gathering. Using meditation, gentle movement, sound and ritual, we will come together as a community of woman to turn our attentions inward, slow down, and allow ourselves to fully experience all that we need to in order to be able to fully transition, and embrace, the change of seasons.
